Kid Crazy
Kid Crazy is our infant touring performance group. These nine Year 6 children perform a Wiggles, Hi5 type show to many of the Kinders and preschools around Manningham. All of these very talented children auditioned for the group last year and have been combining, dance, voice, drama and story telling in their weekly rehearsals. We are all having so much fun and the little children are going to adore them once we start touring.

We are all having so much fun and the little children are going to adore them once we start touring.
The Cg’s feature 13 children from Year 4 and 5. They have commenced rehearsing an old time show. They will be learning songs and dances from the 1920’s through to the 70s that we can take to the Aged Care and Retirement Villages in Manningham. Songs include the Irving Berlin hit Alexander’s Ragtime Band, songs from the musical Showboat through to the Mamas and Papas California Dreamin’ plus many more. It is a joy to watch these children with the elderly and these shows always present many memorable moments.
The Donburn Orchestra. I am so proud to announce The Donburn Orchestra. We have 21 members and the instruments include keyboards, piano, clarinets, violins, xylophones, glockenspiels and cellos. We rehearse every Monday and our first piece has been the theme from the ‘Man From Snowy River’ movie. The children are all so talented and the sound they have produced in the first few weeks has been amazing. I can’t wait to show them off to everybody. Stay tuned.
The Talented Voice of Donburn have just commenced rehearsing and for the first time it is wonderful. These children will put together a variety show that we will take to schools in our local area. The highlight will be our night time concert in our hall which will be open to the public. The Year 6 children will work with the Year 3s helping them to gain both confidence and performance skills.
The Junior Choir
Our Junior Choir has 65 members with Year 1 children making their debuts this year. Already these children are producing a beautiful sound and their never-ending enthusiasm is matched by their amazing little voices. So far we have rehearsed ‘No Matter What’ by Boyzone, Lollipop, a Beatles Medley and the closing song from an almost forgotten Australian TV classic Adventure Island which was written by John Michael Howson. It is going to a fabulous year with this fantastic choir.
The Senior Choir
Our awesome Senior Choir this year has 73 members and their start to the year has been fantastic. We have some exciting times ahead and we are very busy preparing for them. We celebrated Harmony Day by performing in a special concert organised by former Manningham Mayor Dot Haynes at the Manningham Municipal Offices Ballroom. Our songs will be ‘All Over the World’ by ELO and ‘He Aint Heavy’ by the Hollies. It will be an amazing show.
